Public education on natural hazards

Helping New Zealanders better understand natural hazards and prepare for their impacts through campaigns, partnerships and community outreach.

Our Public Education programme is all about creating an Aotearoa New Zealand that is better informed about natural hazards and more prepared for their impacts. Through marketing campaigns, partnerships and sponsorships, we connect with thousands of New Zealanders every year, sharing practical knowledge and tools to make homes and communities safer, stronger and more resilient.

This work is guided by our Public Education Strategy, which sets the direction for how we support New Zealanders to build resilience.
